2 choses :

1/ Pour marquer l’ouverture de la construction d’une toute nouvelle aile de batiment, on nous a passé commande d’une création sonore, à Jean-Louis Prades (aka Imagho) et à moi.
Elle est diffusée dans une - très bonne - expo de Micha Laury et Philippe Cognée, dans la nouvelle galerie de l’arthotèque, jusqu’au 9 juin.
C’est réalisé principalement à partir d’enregistrements faits à la bibliothèque.

2/ Du 17 au 28 avril, auront lieu 10 concerts sur casques (le projet dont je vous parlais précédemment).

I know, it’s been a long time this blog seems dead. So some explanations :
First of all, for various reasons, each one of us is not making a lot of music those last times. In my case, because I was in a musical hang-up (not any more interested in electronic pop, more into contemporary music etc etc). What was the more interesting for me was my improvisations with Imagho, and I am not intersted in playing with anyone else actually. I am slightly beginning to play again, in a new form, more experimental (I hope). Maybe some mp3 to come soon.

But aspic has still an activity, wich I never mention here : as I work in a contemporay art space (called la Salle de bains), I have a musical project in collaboration with this art space. It is called les Rendez-vous. In a few words, it is headphones concerts (see picture below). You can find more informations by following the link (in this mail or at the end of the links column, on the right).

Still talking about music : Imagho and I are actually working on a sound installation commissioned by the public library of Lyon. The deadline is in january.
There will also be something like 10 headphones concerts featuring lots of interesting artists. More news to come here.

And the biggest news. The one I should have begin with ! The 14th of may, my girlfriend Isabelle and I had a son. His name is Kim and I am definitly the happiest man on earth ! That is also the reason why I didn’t have my thoughts really focused on music those last months. I know it sound stupid and this blog is not made for it but you will not avoid the picture of Kim. Fuck, stupidity is sometimes so cool and it is my blog, I do what I want !

One last thing : I do not give a fuck about the blog logic. Since this blog has been created, I only receive 2 or 3 comments from friends (thanks guys, but it is definitly better to talk with you than to communicate by blog;-). And I receive tons of spams. It seems nobody is interested in discussion.
So, as I am tired of deleting spams, comments are now blocked. This site is for infos about aspic activities, and downloading our ton of mp3. And please, don’t talk to me about myspace ! If you want to communicate, come to my house and have a coffee, or send me a mail (frz[at]aspicrecords’dot’com)

I have been quite busy those last days. But this afternoon, I finally found some time for music.
So here it is : an old track I have played only once, during my last gig, but I never took the time to finish it really. That is what I have been doing this afternoon. It is called “sfx”.

Some new stuff for Christmas, kids :

- New Radioblog
We didn’t have time for our weekly rehearsals (2 guitars straight through our laptop) I and Imagho, and we recently found som time. It was a great pleasure and here are the 2 best moments on the radioblog. On the radioblog too, there is a recording of me walking back home, under a slight rain. It was really peaceful, hope you will enjoy.

- New unreleased Blue Baboon track - “High on Fire“ - as a teaser from his forthcoming album, to be released in Jauary on “Optical Sound“.

I just finished this new one : “marty”
It is called Marty because of Martin Sheen. I was looking to “in the heart of darkness” - a making of Apocalypse Now - when I began this track. (But the track is not about this, it is just a name). Real great (the movie, and the making of). If you do not already know that, get it !

Wallpaper Music is an installation by Sébastien Roux.
Sounds by Sogar.
Wallpaper by Claire Moreux.
This was the second edition of the installation, in Lyon, City Library, in march 2004.
In a few words, Wallpaper Music is a wall generating sounds, like a big speaker.
You just enter a room, and you hear sounds, and you realize a whole wall is vibrating. There are no speakers in the room, just a wall, sounding.
This is the recording of the concert in the installation, march the 19th, 2004. Pre-recorded sounds of the installation composed by Jürgen Heckel (Sogar). Sébastien Roux & Frz were generating guitar drones.

I almost finished a new track. Not already sure it will be the definitive version. More a draft. It is called “damo“, check it�

Well, here is the new website. And it is one of those stupid blogs !
The reasons are :
- I consider this was too boring to update : I am quite stupid and never really understand all those html and css sheet (sorry Blue baboon, and once again, all my thanks for the good works, I am just a slacker).
- I think it is pretentious to have a website so “perfect and professionnal” as we just are amateurs. Wankers trying to make some music, nothing else�
- So, I wanted a website more simple, and more “what you hear is what you get”. Here it is.
Look at the downloads at the right side. Here is what this site is all about :
if you are here, it is because you want to hear something, nothing else. Take it, it is yours ;-)
- It took me only 2 days to understand how this blog works ! (2 DAYS ! I AM A GENIUS !)
- I love the idea of using pre-formatted things. (I love the sentence “I use the best, I use the rest” in Anarchy in the U.K. since I am a teenager ;-)
- And the last reason is that I am really into questionning the relevance of running a label, releasing cd’s actually.
As I am open to a discussion about this, there is a post called “buck fusic musiness” here where I detail my own questions. Do not hesitate to leave comments ! This is meant to open a discussion.

One last thing : the main interest of this blog - as every blog - is that you can post comments. Even if I am the administrator, you can post ! And please do it ! Do not let me posting my life, alone on this blog. It is so pathetic !
